You can hear it at the 4-5sec point. Still looking for word on what damage occurred on the car.

I'm surprised Mikkelsen got away with this. Looks like he hit a stump first and that caused the loss of control and the collision with the tree. Expected his right rear suspension to be deranged.

Clearly, they found some snow today. I think it was all on the stages in Norway. On the other hand, they've already cancelled one of only two stages scheduled for Sun.

Winter roads & summer ditches. Go wide & there is no snow bank to lean on. Tough conditions.

Only 5 stages today and just the Power Stage tomorrow.
The best thing about today's result (IMO) is Ogier leads by only 17.1sec and, if he is to be believed, he's had to work hard for that lead. "I was completely flat out. I took so many risks and couldn't have gone any faster" And that's with a couple of his main rivals, Latvala and Meeke, way down the order due to retirements yesterday.

A loyal Kris Meeke fan posted this, pointing out what might have been if he hadn't had to retire yesterday after his car found that rock. To be clear, these are results from today only...and I haven't checked the numbers, just assuming they're right.
But you can't win if you can't keep it on the road. Still interesting, though. -

We also have a new record holder for Colin's Crest.
Eyvind Brynildsen, in a Fiesta R5 (WRC2), jumped 45 METERS!

All credit to the Colin's Crest jumpers, as it doesn't look simple.
It always seems to be the Italian drivers from all classes who I remember, perhaps because many seem to 'act out' their nationality so well, so I was surprised to find that the wonderfully exuberant Gigi Galli doesn't figure in the Colin's Crest records as I thought he was one of the most stylish jumpers even if he didn't always stay out of the trees.
Here he is in Finland doing 58m - more or less crest to crest - over a much easier/straighter jump.
