I just saw a real short video of the crash, it looked to me that the spectator was sitting 6-10 feet above the road when the crash occurred and he just fell
off the rocks onto the road. It didn't look at all like the car struck him. -

I hope that the car didn't hit him & he just fell off his perch. That would be easier for Paddon to handle I think.
Meeke's found a buried bolder under the snow. What a hit. Yikes! Winter slick roads with no snow banks for protection. -

Start time for the first stage today was delayed because of concerns re spectator locations. Marshalls went to work and Stage 9 ran rather than needing to be cancelled.

I find it pretty amazing that even after a death spectators still stand on the road & in run off zones.

Man that Fiat really took a hard hit on the drivers door. Hope the driver is OK. OUCH! -

Meeke can't catch a break. At least this time he wasn't at fault...maybe.

WRC2 and GT classes. Those 124s look like fun.

That Porsche looks like such a handful. So much power & no traction. At least those Abarth's don't appear to have too much power. They do look like fun, rear drive = :arf:

Ogier won the rally. Not a surprise given all his competitors had issues.
The big surprises (to me): 1) Neuville in his Hyundai was able to both take and maintain a lead, and 2) Latvala took 2nd in the Toyota's first outing! -

I was hoping Neuville could take the win. Great result for Latvala & Toyota. Congrats to Ogier I bet Malcolm Wilson & Ford are over the moon happy. Great way to start the year for M Sport.
