I think the master was Louis Moya, co-driver to Carlos Sainz, the Spanish rally driver who was The Master before Loeb. This old clip show Moya's stunning ability to say five or six syllables per second: [ame="http://www.viddler.com/explore/ponsetionline/videos/80/"]Viddler.com - Sainz-Moya Finlandia 2 - Uploaded by ponsetionline@@AMEPARAM@@http://www.viddler.com/player/cd210aab/@@AMEPARAM@@cd210aab/[/ame] But then of course if you have to say four syllables for 'left' (izquierdo), you need to speak fast. Moya always can be heard with the same intonation - speaking like a machine gun but ending with a long syllable.
Wow, I am going to have to do some study on this. More exciting then watching cars going round and round. Nobody in NASCAR today has the style of old Fireball Roberts. Jim
Was flipping channels half in a daze last night when I stumbled upon the Countryman WRC Car on HD...woke me up a little too..
If it made the end of the year highlights, then they must believe it will be a good thing and hopefully we will see more of the WRC MINI. Right now there are only two manufactures on the leader board, so there is room for another. Jim
Have been following it regularly, and am a HUGE fan! It is funny to see how sub-par Ken Block is compared to these guys. I like BLock and all, and he is a really talented driver, but doing demos and doing really Rally racing are two different beasts. Still though, Pretty sick skills [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HQ7R_buZPSo]YouTube - KEN BLOCK GYMKHANA TWO THE INFOMERCIAL[/ame] And, now that he is with Ford [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4TshFWSsrn8]YouTube - Ken Block's Gymkhana THREE, Part 2; Ultimate Playground; l'Autodrome, France[/ame] As was being discussed earlier, Isle of Mann HAS to be one of the most bad ass things, ever.
You mean you don't drive around the docks like that just for fun? I thought everyone did that. Jim
