Jim BMW has gotten where they are by appealing to the enthusiast and the enthusiast want a be. The DTM is covered here at least as well if not far better than WRC, with all the races being televised. In their defense; for them to go into DTM against their two main rivals Mercedes and Audi; failure is not an option. There is no place to hide there, BMW has to compete and win first year or their rivals will rub their noses in it in their advertising. Me just thinks they have the where with all to do both, DTM and WRC.
Personally I don't like DTM that much. The cars look odd to me with all of those appendages stuck all over them. Ain't no Chevys racin there either. Heck they don't even have a driver named Jr 88 racin there. Maybe now that BMW knows how I feel about DTM they will divert all there money to the WRC. Rest easy Jim it's going to be all right. :beer
Another piece in the follow the money trail puzzle. BMW is to ship 4,000 brand-new luxury vehicles in from Germany to escort dignitaries and officials around during the 2012 Summer Olympics in London. Then figure in the BMW Pavilion to be built on an elevated site above the Waterworks River, between the Olympic Stadium and the Aquatics Centre
You could be right. That monstrosity will last for many years and nobody will remember what it is, just like the Space Needle. BMW keeps making one cool move after another. :nonod: Jim
