as long as he doesn't have a big brake kit the 16's should work.

They wont till you drill the lug holes out to clear the 14mm studs that the stock clubman is equiped with. just so you know. Offsets may vary.

16" X-lites fit just fine on my 2009 justa Cooper R57 using the car's original lug bolts. The holes in the wheels are big enough for the 14mm bolts - the bolts bear onto the conical seats in the wheel and are not a tight fit in the hole.

I believe it's only JCW brakes that are a problem - justa Cooper brakes are certainly not, but I'm not 100% certain about Cooper S brakes.

Colin's right that the lug bolts are bigger on the 2nd Gen cars, but all the factory wheels I've seen have holes big enough for either bolt, just like AngiB writes. Some aftermarket wheels don't tho.....

The MINI's wheels are hub centric, which means they center on the hub, rather than the bolts. That's also why a lot of aftermarket wheels require a hub ring to center the wheel to prevent wobble and imbalance.

If you're Clubby's stock, they will fit just fine.
