Great car(s). I got to photograph the 2E for a magazine. They took the car out of the museum, and I did the cover shot in front of the modest steel building where it was built. I did the rest of the shots out at the "Rattlesnake Raceway." I have a cover from the magazine, with Jim Hall's signature, hanging in my office. Super nice guy. BTW, I also got to drive a few laps of the Rattlesnake Raceway in the Porsche Cayenne press car I drove out to Midland. The track was in really bad shape, but I still had a good time. I was also at the Monterey Historics when the Chaparrals did parade laps at Laguna Seca. I was on the wall at the Corkscrew, and remember people looking at me funny when I ducked down low when the 2J came around. They got it whan they got sand-blasted by the fans. :biggrin5: CD
Chaparrals at Monterey. Mr. Hall was a real innovator. The comments are interesting. Amazing how many people think the body designs are all about looks. Idjits! https://youtu.be/rWzUsW18k3c
1964 Morris Mini Cooper S Works Rally Fun thread! Mine is a 1964 Monte Carlo Rally victory - Paddy Hopkirk per article - Alongside Henry Liddon he won the 1964 Monte Carlo Rally in a Mini Cooper S car number 37, with the registration number 33 EJB.
I'd be totally down. Fix the ignition switch, fuel lines and do a tune-up and this little guy would probably make it a fair distance.
Being a product of the mid eighties, it's slim pickin's for me. I knew a guy in high school who had one of these. I've always thought they're pretty cool. 1985 Dodge Conquest/Mitsubishi Starion
I found one in a junkyard north of Denver once... The body and interior looked like it just came out of the showroom, but it had a piston dangling out of the block. Unfortunately the owner of the junkyard wouldn't sell the entire car. It woulda been perfect for a 4G63 swap.
