Yokohama to sponsor the Tire Rack® SCCA Solo National Tour and Solo National Championships with the ADVAN Neova® AD08

FULLERTON, CA. – (Jan. 26, 2010) –Yokohama Tire Corporation is returning to the Sports Car Club of America (SCCA) as a contingency sponsor for the 2010 Tire Rack® SCCA Solo National Tour and Solo National Championships. Yokohama’s ADVAN Neova® AD08 ultra high-performance tire is now eligible for the SCCA’s contingency program for the series and championship.

“It’s great to be back with the SCCA,†said Duane Sampson, Yokohama brand manager. “The drivers that compete in the Tire Rack SCCA Solo National Tour and Solo National Championships definitely know, understand and appreciate ultra high-performance tires like the Neova AD08. This is an excellent place to showcase the capability of the tire and support grassroots motorsports.â€

The 10-event “Road to Lincoln†series (including the National Championships), kicks-off March 13 with the Dixie National Tour at South Georgia Motorsports Park in Adel, Georgia. The National Championships are in Lincoln, Nebraska on September 8 at Lincoln Airport.

“Solo†racing is SCCA’s brand name for autocross competition. Solo events are driving skill contests that emphasize the driver’s ability and the car’s handling characteristics by driving a course that is designated by traffic cones on a low-hazard location, such as a parking lot or inactive airstrip. The events attract a full range of imported and domestic sports cars, sedans and purpose-built race cars.
