Did you have the new bushings installed by a shop or is this an easy enough DIY job?

If you can get under the car it is easy. I had a local shop do it as I had no good place. I watched and it was simple, you just insert the bushing and that is it.
Since doing it I found that it called for the sprint booster which I did myself and now I believe that a short shifter will finish it all off perfectly. Each item seemed to call for the other. IMHO
