The late, great singer Cab Calloway was known for his 1931 jazz hit, "Minnie the Moocher." Think "Hidy Hidy Hi," etc. [ame="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Minnie_The_Moocher"]More info here[/ame] So... my car's named Moocher the MINI. Which is cute and all, but I always have to explain it. :-( Spridget
^^ The fact that I understood the connection isn't what makes me feel old, it's that I knew it despite the Blues Bros. movie connection.
Walter after my favorite Fringe character. He's kind of retro, eccentric, and not quite normal. But when he has to get the job done he does an outstanding job.
My MINI's plate says it is called MNI STIG but that is just really an inside joke with my son because he put NXT STIG on his truck (can you tell we are huge TopGear fans?) but I never really thought of it as a name. The car really didn't have a name. I don't usually do that but my wife insisted that a car with this much personality needed a name. So since I find it to be a really magical car in so many ways he has been dubbed Merlin!
Sweetie and Ditto "Sweetie" was custom-ordered. She had everything, and I loved her. When she was only 3 months old, and I was just getting to know her well, we were sitting at a stop light and a drunk driver crashed into us from behind in a Dodge Dually going 82 miles per hour. He never hit his brakes. It was scary, but Sweetie did a miraculous job of protecting my daughter and me. We survived, but Sweetie died. When the new car arrived a few months later, she was an exact duplicate of Sweetie. I was happy and sad all at the same time. My husband came up with the name "Ditto", and as soon as I heard that name, I knew that was it!!! It's a different car, but her name honors Sweetie, and the good job she did for my daughter and me.
This story is a good reminder how well the MINI can protect you! Good to hear you are OK, sad to hear about Sweetie.
My MINIs name is Bettie, because she is hot and sexy with a classic look like Bettie Page the pin up queen from the 50s
I've only had my MINI for a month and I've been through several names before I settled on Trevor. He just looks like a Trevor to me.
Like farkus, I named both my mini's the mini so we wouldn't get confused with the Audi and the truck.
Manny - is named in honor and memory of a Great Friend "Manny" Lopez who was a Mini owner and last year passed away - I just wanted to always be able to take him for a ride and put a smile on his face - like he did for everyone else ...RIP Manny
From the P.G. Wodehouse Jeeves & Wooster stories as so excellently brought to life by Hugh Laurie & Stephen Fry. Bertie is just a fun loving English gent, that's what we wanted in our MINI.
My 68 bug was Chuck. My 98 Audi was Ralph. Now the 06 MC is Pearl. My wife picked it...... Not to sure about it. I just got it 2 months ago. She sure does have some personality O.... the wife has personality too! Bob
I was trying to be so creative and couldn't land on a name. Then I thought...hmmm...last name is Pittman...and PittMini it was!
Marrons are the worlds largest crawfish and they are BLUE and mean as hell. I am a chef and I had the chance to cook up these little beauties when I worked at Victoria & Albert's At Walt Disney World. Mean blue crawfish=mean blue roadster.
