I went 142mph (gps, ~145 on the gauge) all stock on Route 3 between I-495 and NH. Made it from Billerica to Nashua in 7 mins!
Haven't had the chance to open her up yet after the engine upgrades

New RMW cam installed today, looking to raise my 137 soon!!!!
-
Didn't you mean CAM. That cam will raise your effective RPM range so you should see about 4-6 mph increase. -
6th gear pull, 140 speedo (137 gps) with my car full of stuff from college headed home for the summer!

we are seeing some averages here.

Having a GPS mounted in my car gives me insight to what others do in my car. My 2 girls borrowed it to visit an Aunt in Georgia. They got back to town, busted at 97! So I'm out tooling around one day and decide to push 100-110 on some flat empty interstate. I slowed back down and touched the GPS to see my top speed. WHAT? Someone had pushed Winnie to 137!!! I find out later that my 20 year old son had tracked her about a week before and maxed my GPS. He confessed, what else could he do, GPS don't lie.
My wife was furious but I assured her that I had done the same in a friends car when I was young. 145mph in a customized '37 Ford Coupe with a 327!:aureola: -

With my bench-tested 271 hp, big valve, high lift cam engine, I got an indicated 148 and still going. There just are not any back roads long enough to wind it all the way out. It's way too difficult to do this on an interstate so I would not attempt it.
I much prefer the track to the street anyway. The fastest 2 mile track in the country (Nelson Ledges, near Akron, OH)
is fairly close to me and I can get 135 down the back straight but I'm still only in 5th! That's on 225/40/17s which read low on the speedometer so I don't know exactly -
Can't wait till this weekend on VIR! -

I don't know if you have noticed this, but at track days most folks lift or even brake for the kink. It can make for lots of excitement when the car in front nails the brakes there as you are screaming up on it with no intentions of lifting let along braking there. :eek6:
Hope to see you there sometime. -
Plug the coordinates into Google Earth for exact location. It was a slight downhill, but I had the AC going full blast and there wasn't a soul in sight. I slowed to go around a sweeping bend and saw a Trooper just entering the highway. Good thing the brakes were in good shape! -
oooOOOOoooo late to the party.
GPS varified at 154.3 mph if I remember correctly. This was 2006 ish so I forget what the final was.

I had StoopidGirl with me at the time, she was napping. I figured it was time to see where things could go. Once I realized with the changes we had made in the software there was more room than I thought, I quickly woke her up and asked her to take a pic.
The car is surprisingly stable at that speed too.
