 Somewhere around 140 according to the speedo (with Dinan software loaded - previous MINI). So given the typical margin of error, that's probably below 130... Not in the MINI? That's a different story...
Bonneville September 2008 - 133.206 in 1 mile from a standing start. Going back this year with mucho more whp and some Group4 Autosport aero tricks to try for the 150 MPH club. Get two miles for this. Have to do two 150 MPH+ runs during the meet. Stay tuned!!
This thread has the potential of out living us all. Yeah, we all speed on public roads, get over it. Guess what, those yellow speed signs you see going through the twisties, are just the recommended speed. The last white speed limit sign you saw is legally how fast you can drive, if conditions warrant. Not that that has anything to do with how fast you have gone. Be safe out there. Mark
I was doing about 120 in a rented 6 cylinder Mustang at Cal Speedway. That was when they still had the chicane on the straight. It was supposed to be my Mini that day, but it broke the day before.
Without tune but with mods 2 mile push 135 With tune... limiters adjusted and mods 2 mile push 144 Point of testing and speed logging off highway private 3 mile road. The testing was on a level road with 0 wind conditions Planned projection with manual tune and new mods actual 138 @**00rpm
Those of you who like to drive fast should check out the Bonneville Salt Flats, a safe place to see what your Mini can do in one mile from a dead stop. Its not as easy as blasting down some blacktop. This is a good test to see if the mods you paid for are worth the money. CFMINI hopefully will join the 150 club this year. Check out this site Usfra home page

I guess the thread title "Your Top Speed in a MINI" leaves a bit of liberal information to the respondent. While it is interesting reading some of the MPH it has not been established the distance by many in achieving that velocity? The biggest variable in top speed MPH is the vehicle's ability to accelerate against the air drag forces at 100+ mph which become expediently high as that speed level increases. And than there is the RPM and top gear ratio relationship? Anything from 0 to 100-130 MPH in a mile should be considered a good accomplishment of a well planned and thought out combination of parts and their application. Just make sure your brakes are in good order!! :cornut:
Cruising Cal. 177 (95-62-177_to_I10 route) after AMVIV one year, late afternoon, 132 mph on the digital speedo, probably 125-128 mph actual. Pretty lonely roads in those parts. :arf: Found the local CHP as I got to I10 west bound. Actual 118 GPS on the Highway Straight at HPR into corner 4 with lots of breaking at the 300-200 marker. :eek6: With more brass and more brakes, I could go deeper.
If I was on the NAMeless site...I never speed.:aureola: I did hit 140 mph on the speedo on GA-11 on the way to MOTD from Atlanta. I still had more to go but slowed down after I rolled up on some traffic rather quickly. Note: Passing some one only doing 85 after doing 140 makes you feel like you are in a school zone. LOL
