We haven't said we liked Bush or the job he did, just that we don't need to get down off the Jacka$$ and walk around and stick our heads up it's behind.. We do know this country wasn't built on Socialism, nor is it the answer for a better future for all of us. We need term limits and a whole new crop of REPRESENTATIVES with our interest at heart. I'm for voting every incumbent out which ever side they say they are on... We are in this mess because of them and now they want to fix the mess they created, by us giving them more power.... Ridiculous.
well, you haven't proven Obama has a socialist/communist bent by having a Warhol image on his Christmas tree either, but you still belabor the point anyways
Democrat, republican, independent, libertarian.... whatever! What matters is not the label, but rather the actions. As far as I'm concerned, all parties are responsible for the mess we are in. So I leave you with my political philosophy: "Conspiracies are just the faulty actions of incompetent, underpaid, govt. employees. They are not well crafted and thoughtfully laid plans, just a bunch of careless mistakes." Happy New Year to all my Mini friends!
as someone who works in federal contracting, I can tell you, the majority of gov employees are dumb. and yes, this is a wholesale comment....stupidity cuts across every dept and agency, even the three letter ones.
I'm coming to this discussion late, but anyway... The Mao image seems odd, but out of context I find it hard to judge the meaning or intent. The balls look like decoupage of contemporary images. Was this done by school children and sent to the White House? That seems to me to be a typical kind of thing the White House would do. I wonder how many TARP haters would be unemployed now if TARP had not been put in place and major financial institutions had been allowed to fail? Yes, it was horrible to have to use taxpayer money to rescue those companies. Yes, the greedy bankers who set up the financial house of cards seem to have paid little price for their sins. The problem was that not rescuing those firms would have been much much much more painful to the average person. In this time, the political might of a country has a great deal to do with economic strength. A major strategy of Al Qaeda is to bing down the USA by bankrupting us. One of the purposes of the 9/11 attack was to cause major economic harm. We have spent close to a trillion dollars on war efforts in response to the 9/11 attack. I believe we have done far more, dollar-for-dollar, to protect our national security with the TARP money than we have through military spending. As for Fox Noise, I think they are a joke. A very very bad joke. My take is that Fox is a corporation that has found a way to make lots of money by telling an angry segment of the population what they want to hear. It isn't news. At best it is editorial disguised as news. Usually, it is just pandering. For reliable unbiased news, I think Fox would rate close to the bottom with Pravda during the cold war. If Fox can find stories to slant, they will create them like they did when they organized the so called tea parties. Sort of like the Iranians organizing pro-govt. rallies to counter the recent protests.
:yesnod: Of course fox news believes that decorating ornaments is somehow brainwashing the children into becoming socialists
Say what you will I will continue to watch Fox News their "viewpoint" is closer to what I believe than any other News source out there, that is why the country you live in is so special, it allows you to listen to whomever you choose to and belive what you want, if we lose that ability to speak and think as we wish we are in trouble, that is my choice you choose what you wish. rrr:
I don't think you needed to tell us that...it was implied. It's not uncommon for people only to want to hear information that supports their own viewpoint (whether its accurate or not is not the point).
I like to watch the opposing view point to see what the other side is up to. I also watch my side extra carefully since I would hate to be made a fool by their lies.
at least Fox doesnt show a video made by insurgents sniping our soldiers in iraq *cough*cnn*cough*....at least fox isnt a mouthpiece for every two bit despot and terrorist in the world
And if we allow ignorant crazy people to speak their hateful minds on broadcast television we are in trouble. Oh wait, we do allow that...
If crazy, radical and some say ignorant people had not spoken their minds the country you live in would be a very different place I believe they were called The Founding Fathers...
True, but the Founding Fathers were sane, thoughtful and generally very intelligent. Same cannot be said for the on-air personalities of Fox News. In other words, Glenn Beck is no John Adams.
Oh, but if you read what Thomas Jefferson wrote about John Adams during the campaigns of 1796 and 1800, it would seem that at least that time John Adams was Glenn Beck.
