Speaking of gas wars/shortage. Remember when there were odd even days for getting gas based on your license tag number..

Yup and it was really cheap back then.
The attendant pumped your gas while he was smoking and also cleaned your windshield and checked your oil.

Back right after the Earth cooled, I had a part time job as a full service Gas Station Attendant. (I capitalize because I was a professional.) In addition to all of the above, I checked air pressure in all tires and adjusted right at the pump. And for the life of me, I have no idea what I used to decide the proper psi for each car.

When moding your Ford meant shackles, lead, chopped Lincoln fender skirts, blue dot tail lights and installing a rear seat speaker!

When the gas station had to look up your credit card number in that annoying little book with super thin pages to make sure it was not stolen.

When you went food shopping they bagged you food for you in paper bags.

No cheap plastic bags that only hold 2 things each and break. :incazzato:

I've got no problem with no plastic or paper bags. Don't understand what the problem is with such a ban. We have both kinds of bags here & we recycle them if we end up with one. When we shop we use our own reusable bags. Seems simple enough to this simpleton.

Next time I go to the supper market I will grab you tons of the shopping bags you cannot get anymore and mail them to you.

No plastic bag banning here, they double plastic bag everything.

I will admit to listening to the Lone Ranger on Saturday morning radio, but I was very very young back then. I guess that still makes me old now.

Then the Potato chip guy from Charles Chips would deliver a can of Chips.

They the Vacuum cleaner guys would stop by.

I am not really sure which one was my Dad because I look nothing like my 4 brothers. :D:lol:
