From my perspective the Tonight Show ended when Johnny retired. Jay Leno is NOT the Tonight Show......now heeeere's Johnny!
Letterman is too abrasive for the older Tonight Show crowd. Leno isn't abrasive.... he isn't funny either! He does have good taste in cars, though!
