    My dads cars always had 460 air conditioning ....4 windows down...60 miles an hour.

    Ha! I was just about to say monochrome monitors, but found this about 20 pages back. Good times! I also remember modems (2400!), film cameras and rotary phones. They still make vinyl records but they are quite more rare than CDs and MP3s these days, and I only heard tales of that game they called pong. :cornut:

    I do remember petrol being cheaper than 50 cents a gallon, and a phone call from a payphone costing a dime.

    Simca's had 4 on the tree and a Renault R16 I once owned had column shift 4 speeds.

    1940 Census Taker

    Remember the 1940 Census Taker knocking at your door and asking a bunch of questions? Well, I'll admit I don't remember the event as I was probably out somewhere on my bicycle. Nevertheless, the record shows me as 7 years old living with my parents in Clewiston FL.

    Should you have been in the US in April 1940, you may find the record 1940 Census Records

    "Floppy" disks.. the not-so-sloppy 3.5", the sorta-floppy 5.25" and the almost floppy 8"
    Not having a microwave.

    OK, not really older than dirt, but still :)
