When you really could wash your kids mouth out with soap. Also the famous phrases all a Mons used to says; "Just wait till your father gets home" "Quit crying & yelling or I will come up there and give you something to really cry about" Let's just say back in the day when we were kids we were all raised and punished without the government or societies $.02. Child services :lol::lol: you did not talk back and you were in your house when the Sun went down.
Also, your neighbor's Mom had license to wash your mouth out with soap or whup you if you misbehaved. Then, you got another one when you got home because you embarrassed your Mom by acting up at your friends house.
Parents didn't complain when little Johnny got in trouble at school, because every one knows he is an angel!
When you went food shopping they bagged you food for you in paper bags. No cheap plastic bags that only hold 2 things each and break. :incazzato:
Ok side note. Remember the environmentalist wanted plastic so it could be reused? Now instead of biodegradable paper in landfills we have billions of plastic bags. That worked well:frown2: Oh yea paper is renewable.
Well, I remember that too and now we are going to ban the plastic bag and charge a dime for paper. I remember when this used to be a free Country!
We lived three miles north of the Detroit City limits and when my dad went hunting (pheasant, squirrel, rabbit) he clicked the safety off on his shot gun when he walked out of the house because he was there. :smile5:
In the People's Republic of Austin, they banned paper bags under the 'plastic bag ban' too... except for dry cleaning and newspaper plastic bags. I don't shop there if I can help it. And you are old as dirt if you remember Postum.
I've got no problem with no plastic or paper bags. Don't understand what the problem is with such a ban. We have both kinds of bags here & we recycle them if we end up with one. When we shop we use our own reusable bags. Seems simple enough to this simpleton.
If we have billions of plastic bags in landfills then we have at least that many blowing around the highways. You can't count how many plastic shopping bags you see blowing around the highways or stuck up in trees. They should be classified as air pollution.
Is it strange that my biggest concern regarding the plastic bag issue is figuring out what I'm going to use to pick up poo from two 90+ lb dogs in my back yard once I run out of my stash? I work in Davis and they just banned plastic bags here. I always forget my reusable bag when I go shopping on my lunch hour and they never ask me if I want to buy a paper bag for a dime...so I end up with my loose goods rolling around in the back of my car. Time to just start keeping a few reusable bags in the hatch...
Steph... Just toss the dung in the green can mixed in with the clippings... I stopped bagg'n the stuff years ago.
You've gotta make sure you've got grass or prunings in the bottom first, then seal up the stench with some more grass..... Get yourselves a small aluminum scoop shovel. They work wonders on those land mines!
I suppose I could just leave it sitting there and let my big male German Shepherd eat it. I'll just spray some listerine into his mouth before he comes back inside...
Your older than dirt if you find yourself talking about how to rid yourself of dog poo.:lol::lol:
Nothing degrades in a landfill. They are designed that way. There have been 25 year old sandwiches found in old landfills that they are digging through for recycling.
