    Glad none of those spectators proved Darwin right. A magnificent jump, but a tad too far left. Oh the power of VTEC.... :ihih:

    That's easy - the side with the thickest trees to stand behind....

    And in my book, if neither side has decent-sized trees, then the best side is the side of the hill before the jump - anyone who thinks they can predict how far off-line a rally car will go when a jump goes wrong is mistaken.

    [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1BNVWc4LIXY]Petter Solberg very big jump - Wales Rally GB 2009 - YouTube[/ame]

    And to pick up some technique here is one master, the late Colin McRae who jumped so much that the longest jump in the Rally Finland is now named Colin's Crest in his honour:

    If his passenger seems unnaturally calm, she is Penny Mallory, a British TV motoring presenter who was the UK ladies rally champion in the 1990s.

    Although it did look at about 1 minute mark that she had to bite on back. :arf:

    I should point out that I think the 136mph jump is on an Irish rally and it seems that the pre-rally scrutineering on all Irish rallies requires the removal of the driver's brain, judging by some of the 'bravery' one sees on the TV coverage.....
