Hahahahaha I for one have been following your BS on every FB group and you have been laughed at by everyone including Bytronic, Manic, RMW. Don’t bring your BS to M/A we all know better. The MINI community is a small group so posting different things here that what is said on FB is a joke. FYI- no one is kissing your ass.
Lee, you can’t tell him anything he knows everything and is now working with a BS Polish guy in Poland. He is doing things that have been done years ago by others and have failed because the M62 is a hot mess just like a Sprintex. So people never learn. The TVS is current technology and is much more efficient with less heat generation then the old style M45 and M62. Charlie just wants to desperately prove he is right and can get the same results cheaply which can’t be done PERIOD. He will reply with a huge post full of BS but his math and assumptions do not work out as people have told him time and time again. Just don’t believe his BS.
Hahahahaha why do you care how much I spend? FYI- you are using retail prices. I am not working on any budget and am not cash strapped. This is my hobby and I am not selling my car. I have my current 14 year old W11 motor with over a 100k on the clock with my second used M45 on it. I only replaced my old working M45 with 90 k on it because I was able to buy a brand new M45 for a great deal. (Under $500) My car makes 268 whp on the Mustang Dyno at Helix motor sports in Philly. Just so you know that the highest WHP MINI that has been on that Dyno. If you know anything about Dyno’s you know the Mustangs read the lowest versus a DynaJet or a Butt Dyno. I and even passed the twin charged (SC &Turbo) mini Helix built long ago. You car can’t touch that. All RMW built. My current motor is running great and has been for years without any issues at all. That’s proven power over time and time and time again. PA state inspected & Emissions legal. I guess on your retired budget / money is and issue, but for me it is not a problem. I am building the best with the best parts available on the market. I do not buy cheap parts or use low quality old tech like a junk BVH head and m62 SC. As for you having an RMW Grand Am Cam, so what? I could give you a world class race car and you would not come close to setting a time near a trained race car driver. Your CAM will do nothing for you if you put it in a crap head and motor and can tune the car to work. Duh Oh what happened to your great Thumper Cam that you needed a RMW Cam? Lol Just so you know, In my garage on my engine stand I have a new W11 1.62 “built” motor with forged rods, king bearings, forged pistons , ARP hard wear and all the goodies including a TVS900 going into my car. I am replacing everything, rad, hoses ac condenser, all the little bit’s and bob’s with new OEM parts where required. I will also have better water-pump that does not run off the SC or the motor. I already have a well functioning Aquamist Meth Kit spaying the largest jet they have so heat will not be an issue. I also have a ViPEC/ Link ECU so I don’t have to deal with any OEM ECU limits. Why? Because I want to and I can. I want well over 300 WHP so I am doing the project the right way. So stick with your half ass build with old tech, Cobalt parts and Polish Tuning. Hahahahahaha
Lol - always interesting to watch you two. @Whine not Walnuts is always looking for alternatives and ways to get bang for the buck performance... which personally I always enjoy watching someone do that and many times learn something. @Dave.0 is always looking for top performance (no matter the cost it appears). So is DDM going to release the conversion kit? (i.e. you mentioned Prototype kit).. but also mentioned a dude in Poland. Don't recall anyone saying that here... granted based on later post it appears there are facebook discussions going on and I assume there is some cross over happening here. Actually Dave, I think you miss read his post here (not sure what is on FB). The way I read this is, he is looking to increase performance with a more budget friendly solution.. and acknowledges that. @Whine not Walnuts - Looks like you have it installed.. any pics? Also, do you plan to put this on the dyno when done? I would say, keep personal attacks out of it and stay with the technical stuff, but I know that won't happen. Man I need to figure out a way to get the popcorn emoji as this looks like its going to be feud..
Good info on the post Interesting - what type of power does he expect to get out of that? Any idea what he plans to sell his kit for when its complete? I'll have to look up SHVRZ - Is he posting about his AMG or this potential new kit he is making for the M62? What type of info.. to me if others are not looking for max power, this could be an option especially when its refined a bit more.
I would be surprised, as your not attacking his solution, instead providing a potential alternative for those who don't have unlimited budget. Yea does seem reasonable especially if the tune etc is good combined with a good power increase. Will be interesting to see the final product. Are you going to work with him on testing? It would be interesting to see him move through the development phase similar to @Precision Engineering thread. https://www.motoringalliance.com/threads/lets-change-something.30640/page-8#post-414904
