Welcome to MA! Knowing the year and type of Mini would help. The only advice I can give for now is make sure every thing is plugger in correctly. Your thermostat may have two plugs( if its a Gen2 car with an N14 motor the N18 I am not sure of) make sure they are plugged in correctly.

Here is a link to the Gen2 Mini codes.

after installing the chain did you turn the motor through one revolution and relock down the flywheel and cams to make suer the timing was correct?

    Welcome to M/A!

What year and model is your car? Lots of owners are on here, but, unfortunately, I'd be the last you might want to ask for help. Worry not. Someone with real experience will be along to help you.
